Spiral pot- 2019-3

Dimensions 24” height x 16” diameter (widest). Medium Stoneware with Karnes White glaze, reduction-gas fired to cone 10. 2019.  These vessels are made by pinching long thin strips of wet clay in spirals together to build the form. I think of the pieces as having two parts to the shape: the spine, which curves around the whole vessel and the form underneath. There is something extremely meditative about building these vessels.
