Spiral pot-2019-2

Dimensions 17” height x 18” diameter (widest). Medium Stoneware with black iron oxide wash, reduction-gas fired to cone 10. Price: $950. 2019.   These vessels are made by pinching long thin strips of wet clay in spirals together to build the form. I think of the pieces as having two parts to the shape: the spine, which curves around the whole vessel and the form underneath. There is something extremely meditative about building these vessels.
