Spiral pot-2019-1

Title: Spiral pot- 2019-1.  Dimensions: 15” height x 16” diameter (widest).  Medium: Stoneware with black iron oxide wash, reduction-gas fired to cone 10.  Price: $1250.    These vessels are made by pinching long thin strips of wet clay in spirals together to build the form. I think of the pieces as having two parts to the shape: the spine, which curves around the whole vessel and the form underneath. There is something extremely meditative about building these vessels.
