Spiral Ceramic 2 Gallon Bottle

Stoneware with various glazes. Reduction fired to cone 10 in gas kiln. Measures approximately 21″ height X 13″ widest diameter. 2019.  These vessels are made by pinching long thin strips of wet clay in spirals together to build the form. I think of the pieces as having two parts to the shape: the spine, which curves around the whole vessel and the form underneath. There is something extremely meditative about building these vessels.
