Spiral pot- 2019-4

Title: Spiral pot- 2019-4. Dimensions 18” height x 15” diameter (widest). Medium Stoneware with various glazes, reduction-gas fired to cone 10. 2019.   These vessels are made by pinching long thin strips of wet clay in spirals together to build the form. I think of the pieces as having two parts to the shape: the spine, which curves around the whole vessel and the form underneath. There is something extremely meditative about building these vessels.
