Composite stoneware vase

stoneware reduction fired in gas kiln to cone 10 with oxide wash. approximately 17″ X 8″.  Initially I struggled with throwing large forms, and wanted to explore making Indian water pitchers (surahi’s) that could hold two gallons of water, unless i made it sections. By throwing pieces in sections, i began to play with putting different curvatures, sizes and shapes together and create these ‘architectural’ forms with rhythm.
