Hand built spiral earthenware moon jar

Earthenware spiral moon jar 13″ X 11″. No glaze. These vessels are made by pinching long thin strips of wet clay in spirals together to build the form. I think of the pieces as having two parts to the shape: the spine, which curves around the whole vessel and the form underneath. There is something extremely meditative about building these vessels.
